Since 2017, Johnson & Johnson Vision has acquired three global businesses, doubling its employee base worldwide. With so much change so fast, internal communications planning and execution has been vital to the organization’s cohesive functioning and ensuring transparency across multiple departments and teams.

Johnson & Johnson Vision’s Larry McCallum, Senior Communications Manager, and Mindy Lanahan, Sr. Specialist, Corporate Communications, will join us for our August meeting to share how they’ve approached employee communications during this period of change, lessons they’ve learned along the way and how they’ve worked to optimize their internal communications program.

Larry McCallum has 20 years of internal and external communications’ leadership experience spanning the healthcare, telecommunications, multi-media and cyber security industries. He joined Johnson & Johnson in September 2017 and prior to that was the Director of Internal and Executive Communications at Intel Security, one of the world’s largest defenders in the fight against cybercrime. At the company, he held roles with increasing levels of responsibility and over time, successfully led through five global acquisitions, contributed to significant increases in employee engagement scores, grew leaders’ online following in social media, galvanized nearly 100 percent of employees in global community service and also earned the prestigious Gold Quill Award for writing excellence.

Mindy Lanahan joined Johnson & Johnson Vision in 2011 in their sales training and convention/event planning areas of the business. She joined the Global Communications team in 2014 where her focus has been internal communications and employee engagement, specifically across digital intranet platforms. Mindy hails from the state of Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing.
